How can I tell if my Sensi thermostat is Apple HomeKit compatible?

To be certified for Apple HomeKit compatibility, we were required to use specific hardware that supports Apple’s HomeKit platform. Previous versions of Sensi thermostats cannot be upgraded through software or firmware.

Apple HomeKit compatible

  • Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat
  • Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat

Not Apple HomeKit compatible

  • Sensi Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat

If you are uncertain if your Sensi thermostat is HomeKit compatible, there are a couple quick references you can look at to quickly determine:

Post-purchase:

  • When looking at the front of your thermostat, you’ll see a logo at the top of the unit. If you see a “Sensi” logo, your thermostat is HomeKit compatible. If you see an “Emerson” logo, your thermostat is not HomeKit compatible.

Pre-purchase:

  • Whether purchasing your Sensi thermostat online or in store, look for the Apple HomeKit badge. This badge will show up in the online listing or on the Sensi box.
  • Look at the Product name on the box. Boxes with the product name “Sensi Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat” are not HomeKit enabled. Boxes with the product name “Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat” are HomeKit enabled. Boxes with the product name “Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat” are HomeKit enabled.

No matter what Sensi thermostat you have, you can be assured updates to our mobile app and use of other third-party smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa and Wink will be supported equally.
